Nestled in the Heart of the Ozarks, overlooking Current River, Main Street Market is a family owned & operated Full Service Grocery Store. We are a Mom-and Pop type store where we know our customers by name and take pride in carrying their groceries to their cars. We are committed to serving our customers by providing a trained, friendly staff and offering a pleasant shopping experience. Placing upmost importance on cleanliness, honesty & integrity while building lasting relationships that give our customers the feeling of Hometown Pride.

The grocery business is a nickel & dime business and we have fought hard to compete with the Big Box Stores that have dotted the map all across the United States. Moving from our downtown location to our highway location, we will have a new FACE. This has been carefully pondered over and designed to fit our area, having an Old General Store appeal.

Focusing on key areas, we are continually seeking ways to survive as a small locally owned store. We are excited to add new areas as well as expand our current departments that have made Main Street Market who we are today. The main Niche for MSM is our meat shop. Carrying a good quality of fresh meat & having an in-house butcher are key elements to making it succeed. “Many people like to know who is handling their meat.”

Along with expanding our meat shop, our customers can expect new growth in each department. We are offering a wider variety of fresh produce, dairy, frozen, deli, dry groceries etc. Each season & holiday offers a breath of fresh air to our atmosphere and we will continue to focus on what each season has to offer with our specialty & seasonal products, such as garden seeds, bedding plants, fall mums, pumpkins & Christmas trees, along with the meats, Deli Trays, candies & baking goods that our shoppers have come to expect.

Our small community thrives on the timber & tourist industry. Many grocery stores have been expanding their markets with gas. Our small convenience area will allow us to funnel grocery and Deli items we currently carry through the “C-Store”—Main Street Express. We feel adding the gas dispensers will be a nice fit with the business we have already established, especially being situated along a major US highway.

This addition we feel will help meet the needs of local customers, while at the same time reach out to timber workers & tourists, by offering more shopping convenience and earlier/later operating hours. Each year we have many tourist that make Van Buren their Vacation Destination as does the avid sportsman, who lives to hunt & fish. MSM is the place to pick up your license, bait & camping supplies.

We realize our customers have a choice to ‘shop local’ or take their business out of town.  We appreciate each one of you allowing us to serve you and keep your tax dollars local, as that in turn helps our city, county, and school district.

We started our lives together with a very humble beginning. It didn’t take us long to realize it takes dedication, hard work & lots of prayer to make a marriage, family or business succeed. Throughout the years we have relied on God to guide our paths and help us up when we made mistakes. Our greatest Blessing He has given us is our FAMILY.

Being a family owned—family operated business, we rely on one another for suggestions & ideas.  Many times our children & grandchildren have been asked to pray for us as we move forward and to give us input from the standpoint of their generation.  Each one of them and their spouses have contributed ideas and play an active role in helping & providing a listening ear.

Our Store Manager is our son, Robbie. His oldest, Hailey, is one of our cashiers. There are many times we have Three Generations working together. We are thankful for family, their involvement & look forward to watching this dream develop into reality.
